Alford, Lipson, and Peake convene somewhere at the intersection of free improvisation, group telepathy, and questionable life choices. Maps and recipes are ignored. Agendas dissolve at first tone. Every sound is an invitation, every interruption a welcome guest, and every wrong turn opens another improbable door. These sounds were not assembled so much as encountered.

Nobody arrived carrying blueprints. Compositions aren't built so much as discovered in real time unearthed, abandoned, rediscovered, then happily knocked sideways by the next unexpected sound. Playfulness outranks perfection. Curiosity beats certainty. The trio's nothing off limits approach rewards the listener with scenes that other "jazz "or "avant garde" artists might not be willing to traverse.

Technical ability is assumed, then immediately forgotten in favor of listening, risk, and play. The trio isn't interested in demonstrating technical supremacy, they're occupied discovering what happens when three imaginations collide at full speed .

The music travels through ecstatic noise, psychedelic murk, sideways grooves, impossible conversations, and the occasional flash of satori before cheerfully forgetting what enlightenment was supposed to accomplish. Structures appear, dissolve, and reappear in unfamiliar forms. Noise becomes melody. Density becomes space. Humor quietly overlooks the focused undertakings.

Extreme interaction is the real architecture here. A fragile resonance carries the same weight as an eruption of feedback. The smallest sound can redirect the entire conversation. Every gesture alters the landscape. Every response redraws the map. This trio is far more interested in collisions, coincidences, impossible timing, accidental architecture, and those rare moments when everyone turns the same unexpected corner at once. Virtuosity, when it appears, arrives disguised as mischief.

Cooked is less a collection of tracks than a series of shared hallucinations. They crawl, bloom, evaporate, argue with themselves, and occasionally wink at the listener before disappearing into psychedelic vapor.
