Motian Love Dance is the new project by Belgium drummer Nicolas Chkifi, who pays homage to the wonderful music of American drummer/composer Paul Motian, with a focus on the sound and repertoire of his trio with Joe Lovano and Bill Frisell.

Chkifi has selected his favorite Motian compositions and put together a wonderful lineup of talented musicians; with the two tenor saxophonists Erwin Vann, Nicolas Kummert and two guitarists Vitja Pauwels, Artan Buleshkaj.

The interplay between the ensemble is exhilarating with plenty of improvisation, melody, and texture.

Motian Love thus becomes an open love letter to the Spirit and Music of Paul Motian.
