What's Going On?

Mother, mother
There's too many of you crying
Brother, brother, brother
There's far too many of you dying
You know we've got to find a way
To bring some lovin' here today, yeah
Father, father
We don't need to escalate
You see, war is not the answer
For only love can conquer hate
You know we've got to find a way
To bring some lovin' here today

Hi again friends, it's so hard to ignore the suffering and destruction around the world right now and make meaning of what's happening around us without it completely overwhelming us. What to do? Apart from giving aid, where to direct our energy? It's all so heartbreaking. Will love, peace, and mutual respect ever prevail or will men continue to solve problems with violence and aggression? And change...when is it coming? Change of heart. Change of institutions holding on to power and change of economical and political systems.

Ramble label news

On the label front there is a lot happening as always. We have just released pre-orders for Black Brunswicker and Staraya Derevnya - two stunning recordings.

Black Brunswicker's High Peaks is an ethereal piece of ambient folk that floats above the clouds with gorgeous fingerpicking set to a backdrop of loops and drones.

The international krautfolk avant-garde collective Staraya Derevnya's "Forgot what was important' is a compilation of several years worth of recordings and covers material from their first five albums. Drawing on krautrock, freak folk, prog, jazz and psych rock "Forgot' is a nice primer for those uninitiated and should prepare folks for their new release Boulder Blues, due in several months

CDs

This week we also released Malaysian/Singaporean artists George Chua and Dharma's brilliant electro free-improv release Portal. Portal is a comprise of analogue glitches, sci-fi scratches and scrapes, drones, and intergalactic feedback with George Chua on modular synth and Dharma on prepared and conventional guitar.

Thai guitarist and composer Manop Nakornchai is a free improv guitarist based in Bangkok and an integral part of the exciting underground music scene blossoming there that includes the Bangkok Street Noise group that jams and livestreams regularly. https://www.facebook.com/groups/bangkokstreetnoise
